Creating JAIL Business Cards

I made up a couple of thousand J.A.I.L. business cards on my own about 10 months ago. (I'm not actually a member and when I started, to my knowledge, there wasn't a single jailer in this county). I started putting them under windshield wipers, on tables in public places, gave them to every store clerk, fast food window person, and everyone else I came in contact with. (Parking lots and literature tables at gun shows are great!) I even walked around and put them on some residential front doors, (and I'm still doing it.) I did that for several months. Whenever someone asked me what it was about, I just said, "It's a cool website - check it out." and walked away. (DON'T TRY TO EXPLAIN IT - just say "check out the site," smile knowingly, and walk away.) That's all I did, but, lo and behold, I just got a notice (from J.A.I.L.) that there is going to be a big J.A.I.L. rally/protest/ demonstration at a court house a few blocks from here. And I haven't been involved in any way. I don't even know the people who are doing it. It's cheap. (Cards were 3 cents each at Office Depot) It works. It's foolproof. Try it! It may take a few months, but the more cards you put out, and the more people you get to put out cards, the faster you will see results. Don't worry about the patriots you know already. Don't worry about doing any of the organizing yourself. Just go merrily about your way and distribute as many cards as you conveniently can, and keep on doing it. The rest will take care of itself. Here's what you put on the card. (use a white card with black ink.)

(top line small print, name left, eddress right) Ron Branson [email protected]
(line 2 - "stencil font" large as you can make it and still fit it on the card, this will be the dominant feature on the card and is very impressive in this font) www.jail4judges.org

(Line 4, in small bold script) In Florida (or whatever your state is)

Then put your state JAILer-In-Chief's name, phone, and email address, and the Lt. JAILer-In-Chief's as well. No titles. Just their name, phone, and email.

And on the back, in script, sized to fill the card: "Have you ever been in court, for any reason ... and when it was all over ... and you were alone in the parking lot, did you have the feeling ... deep in the pit of your stomach that ... something ... just ... wasn't ... quite ... right?"

This card is NOT for use as a personal business card. It is a tool to make new JAILers. There should be absolutely NO explanatory information on the card. The website address is sufficiently provocative to make folks curious. The website will make JAILers of them. You can't do it with a card. Just let the card take them to the site. Put out a couple of thousand cards to EVERYBODY. When you go to the supermarket, post office, any parking lot, park as far from the door as you can. Paper two rows of cars on your way to the store. (Usually you can slip the card between the glass and rubber seal on the drivers window.) (The more you do it, the faster you get at it. It takes very little time.) And if you are not overloaded with groceries, paper two rows on the way back to your car. Before long, you will have lots of local people emailing J.A.I.L. looking to hook up with each other. The website is your best recruitment tool. All you have to do is get them to the website. The card will do that. Do NOT use flyers. People keep business cards - almost forever. They throw away flyers. If you don't have a group by the time you put out 2000 cards - put out 2000 more. This works, trust me! Then get each new JAILer you hook up with to put out at least 1000 cards at their own expense. (Once the card is made up, you can just keep reproducing it. No need to change it or personalize it. Just keep printing and distributing the same card. Keep doing this and you will be the first state over the top with the J.A.I.L. Law. How long do you do it? Till at least 10 strangers in a week try to hand you one. NYJAIL4Judges is about to launch a Spring Membership Drive... based on an idea from a California JAILer. We have developed a 2-sided business card intended to be distributed to the general public. Our JAILers are going to place them on the windshields of cars in shopping centers, parking lots, etc. Can you imagine the response after going to your local town court on court night and placing one on the windshield of every car in the parking lot? Some of those cars belong to lawyers. How about the visitors parking lot at the jail? Or just hand them out to a stranger with a knowing wink and the comment "check it out"?

Because they do not have a home address and phone number, no one need be concerned about who gets them... or kooks stalking them. They simply have Ron Branson's name and email address, and my name and email address, and the national website. And check out the back of them for an attention-getter.

The cards will be printed in blue with raised letters with our J.A.I.L. Key Logo as a screen background. They're impressive looking cards. I have a good deal on them. Only $30 a thousand including shipping - that's only 3 cents a card - with a minimum order of only 4000 cards.

We are looking for more JAILers to help with this effort. We already have enough donations for our first 4000 cards. But we would like to get a few more JAILers to support this with their donations and time. Can you imagine the impact of 10,000 cards being distributed? Or 20,000... or more? So... we are asking NYJAILers purchase a thousand cards and be responsible for distributing them in their area.

It's not that difficult a task. I know of several local town courts with a hundred cars or more in the parking lot on every court night. I'll bet it's the same in your area. It will only take a 1/2 hour for a few evenings to place a 1000 of the cards on windshields. For those JAILers who are so financially devastated they can't afford to part with the $30, we need your help too. If you are willing to donate your time and distribute the cards, send us your name and shipping address and we will see that you get cards to distribute. Give us your street address for shipping purposes because UPS doesn't deliver to Post Office Boxes.

We are asking everyone who thinks this is a good idea to send a donation of $30 or whatever you can afford. Please make sure you tell us if you want the cards or if you are donating so that others may distribute them.

For those in states other than New York who would like the cards, talk to your JIC. We will change the information to reflect your state and your JIC's name and email address. We just need a minimum order of 4000 for any state chapter to get them at that price.

Can you imagine the impact on the judiciary of this nation if we could get 10,000 or 20,000 cards distributed in every state in the month of May? All it would take is for a few people in each state to stop waiting for someone else to do it.

Come on everyone. We would like to blitz the state in May. It's the 2nd Anniversary of NYJAIL4Judges. Let's give the courts our own anniversary present. They will just love us for it. The first order is going in on April 7th. Delivery will be about 2 weeks. Send your donations now.
